Quick answer
Mexico Exporta stamp value needs the exact denomination, paper, printing and condition. Five MNH single-stamp asks checked on 11 October 2026 were EUR 2.50, EUR 5.85 or EUR 8.85, excluding delivery and platform fees. These are marketplace offers, not sales or a family-wide valuation. Keep old pesos separate from nuevos pesos.[4][12][13]
Read the denomination before looking for a price
Mexico Exporta stamp value depends on the denomination, paper, printing and condition, not simply the export-product picture. The five single-stamp offers checked here were seller-described MNH examples. They are useful price observations for those listings, not a promise that an unidentified used copy has the same value.[12][13][14]
Start by transcribing the inscription, including the dollar sign and any decimal point. Our photographed examples read $2100 for bicycles, $1900 for abalone and $5000 for cotton. These are historical Mexican face values. They are not US-dollar prices, and they are not the asking prices displayed by the marketplace. Keep the face-value transcription in a different field from your modern price comparison.[12][13][14]
Photograph the whole item before a close-up. Record a loose single, pair, block or complete envelope as that object. The price table covers five photographed singles, each with one stamp. It does not cover a complete set, an album page or an accumulation. If a stamp remains on a cover, preserve the postmarks and other stamps until the entire postal item has been assessed. Removing it would discard evidence that may explain the period and use.
Separate old pesos from nuevos pesos
Banco de México's historical article dates the nuevo peso's introduction to 1 January 1993 and states that the new unit equaled 1000 of the previous pesos. The N$ notation distinguished the new unit during the change.[4] Do not silently read an old $2100 Exporta denomination as N$2100. The equivalent monetary amount under that historical conversion would be N$2.10, but that arithmetic is not a collector valuation.
For the same reason, $1900 in old pesos corresponds to N$1.90 and $5000 to N$5.00 under the reform. Those examples explain the unit only. They do not establish usable postage today, a redemption entitlement, a foreign-exchange conversion or the amount a buyer will pay. A current EUR asking price remains an entirely separate observation.[4][12][13][14]
A cancellation dated 1993 does not automatically mean that the stamp was issued in nuevos pesos. Enrique Sánchez GarcĂa's Exporta study distinguishes the printing period from subsequent postal use.[1] Read the stamp's actual inscription and identify its issue before deciding the unit. An album label saying 1993 cannot replace that inspection. Keep a neighboring N$ stamp in a separate issue group rather than merging it into Exporta merely because both pieces come from Mexico.
Treat issue dates and printing dates as different evidence
Sánchez GarcĂa discusses Exporta as a 1975 to 1993 definitive family and cites production records for a last printing on 27 April 1993. He identifies the two values printed in 1993 as $1300 and $2000.[1] These are attributed specialist findings. They do not date every loose copy, and a late cancellation is not proof of a late printing.
Do not force all designs into a single first-day date. StampWorld groups a regular-postage Exporta entry under 28 November 1975, while El Bable describes the $1.60 bicycle stamp as the first release on 14 October 1975.[11][17] Those descriptions concern differently framed entries. Neither establishes the release date of every denomination or of the later $2100 bicycle. Use a denomination-specific reference when the exact issue date affects your attribution.
Sánchez GarcĂa also argues for postal validity through the end of 1995, but this guide does not independently verify a postal authorization governing every example.[1] That historical interpretation is not a current mailing instruction. For identification, a dated cover can still document use. Record its full date, origin and destination without treating use alone as proof of the stamp's printing date or present validity.
Compare designs without losing the face value
The early paper-1 reference on StampAuctionNetwork, credited to Etiangui, separates subjects and denominations. Examples include 0.40 coffee, 0.80 cattle and meat, 1.60 bicycles, 2.00 abalone and 2.00 books.[2] A picture-based search can therefore return a different value of the same subject. The $2100 bicycle and $1900 abalone in our price table need their own descriptions, not the early values' catalog identities.[12][13]
The reference also distinguishes regular and airmail entries with its R and A column.[2] Retain the service inscription as well as the denomination when selecting a catalog section. A later design carrying CORREOS is not automatically identical to an earlier airmail entry. Similar artwork is a starting clue, not a complete catalog match.
Use the foreign-stamp identification guide if the issuing country or inscription remains uncertain. For Exporta, record the product name when legible, such as BICICLETAS or ABULON, and keep the spelling from the specimen. Do not fill an unreadable value from the highest-priced result. A clear country and subject still leave paper and printing questions unresolved.

Measure perforations and the printed design separately
The paper-1 table lists 0.80 cattle and meat with both perforation 14 and perforation 11 entries, with separate Etiangui numbers 8 and 9.[2] This is a concrete reason to measure rather than identify by the picture alone. Those source numbers are not interchangeable with the marketplace item IDs used below, and the historical table's price column is not a refreshed dealer offer.
Use a physical gauge and record horizontal and vertical readings separately. Our perforation guide explains the check. A damaged edge, a skewed photo or an enlarged screen image can prevent a reliable measurement. In that case leave the gauge unresolved. Do not trim a rough edge or count apparent teeth in a generated illustration.
Design size can also matter, but first establish what a reference measures. Spink's specialized 20-peso wrought-iron block is described as a 37.5 mm format.[6] Do not compare that description with the full edge-to-edge dimensions of a different design or with an unscaled photograph. The guide supplies no universal size test for every Exporta printing. A ruler reading becomes useful only when it matches the reference's subject and dimension basis.
Keep specialist paper labels as claims to check
The $1900 abalone offer is labeled paper type 13, X-B, fluorescent paper by its seller. One $5000 cotton offer is labeled paper type 9, granite paper; the other cotton offer does not specify a paper type.[13][14][15] The normal-light photographs verify the pictured subject and single-stamp format, not fluorescence or the paper classification. No reverse or controlled UV examination was performed here.
A paper number needs the classification system that gives it meaning. Keep the seller's type 13 and X-B labels together rather than assuming that every catalog uses that numbering. Ask for the relevant reference and evidence of the identification. Apparent paper color in a phone image is not enough to settle a specialist attribution, and surface dirt should not become a claimed paper variety.
The two cotton listings have different stated paper information but the same EUR 5.85 base ask on the observation date.[14][15] That is evidence about those two offers only. It does not prove that granite paper always carries no premium, that the unspecified example has a particular paper type, or that both pieces are otherwise equivalent. Record the missing type as unknown rather than completing it by deduction.

Read the five offers in their actual selling currency
The first four offers in the table were checked on 11 October 2026 on Delcampe. They are from the private seller account gobiernodemexico; the fifth is from a professional seller, described below. The page metadata explicitly identifies EUR, and the displayed asks exclude delivery and platform fees.[12][18][21]
The bicycle title mentions a dealer list of 18 USD. The abalone title mentions 30 USD, and the two cotton titles mention 25 USD and 30 USD.[12][13][15] Those are the seller's title claims, not the active selling currency or independently checked catalog valuations. Compare the EUR offer field, not a dollar amount embedded in a product title. No currency conversion has been applied.
The source search page labels the first four offers as private-individual listings.[18] Describe them as marketplace seller asks, not institutional dealer appraisals. MNH is the seller's mint-never-hinged description, not an independent grade or certification.[12][13][15] The captured pages also show separate platform charges of EUR 0.89 for the bicycle and each cotton single, and EUR 1.19 for the abalone. Shipping requires a separate check. An apparent zero shipping teaser is not a worldwide free-delivery guarantee.
A fifth ordinary single provides a professional-seller comparison. Delcampe lists phildom_domfil as professional. Stock 733993, item 2464718495, shows one $1700 tequila stamp, seller-described MNH and dated 1990 by the seller, at EUR 2.50 on 11 October 2026. Paper is unspecified. The page excludes delivery and platform fees and shows a separate EUR 0.55 platform charge. The seller gives catalog ranges rather than one independently established printing number; no exact paper or catalog attribution is inferred.[18][21]

Keep scarce errors out of ordinary comparisons
Spink lot 405 describes a 1983 Exporta 20-peso wrought-iron block of ten on paper 5, with the 37.5 mm format and specified plate errors. Its description includes a 2025 MEPSI certificate.[6] This is a different object from an ordinary loose bicycle or cotton stamp. It is useful evidence that specialist distinctions can matter, not a price for the whole family.
The auction description identifies positions 21 to 30, with particular flaws at positions 27 and 26.[6] A dot in a cancellation, a stain or an image-compression mark cannot establish those plate positions. Preserve joined material and request the certificate and positional evidence if you suspect such a variety. Do not separate a block to create singles before its attribution is settled.
No realized amount from that lot is included here. An estimate, starting price or specialist's reported valuation must not become a completed sale. Our errors and varieties guide helps separate a testable printing feature from an accidental mark. A high-price error comparison requires the same design, denomination, paper, format, feature and evidence, not merely the Exporta emblem.
Check condition before estimating a sale
Inspect the back if it is safely accessible. Note gum, hinge traces, thinning, staining, folds, short perforations and any repairs. The condition guide provides terminology for those observations. A seller's MNH title cannot certify your stamp, and a clean front cannot establish untouched gum. Leave an adhered hinge in place if removing it risks damage.
The price table has no used-single benchmark and no completed sales. If your material is used, hinged, damaged or still on a cover, say that the comparison set does not match. A low-cost mixed stockcard is not a complete Exporta set, and its whole-lot price cannot be assigned to each included stamp. An expensive specialist block is equally unsuitable for an ordinary single.
For a selling decision, seek completed transactions matching the confirmed printing, format and condition, with the transaction date and fee basis. The old-stamps price list explains the difference between individual offers and wider value claims. Record the five asks as references, not as the amount a dealer would pay to acquire your collection. Unknown paper or gum means the estimate still needs work.
Make a useful scan and a saved identification record
Photograph one stamp square-on in diffuse light, with the full perforated edge visible. Keep the color unfiltered and add a separate reverse image only if the stamp can be handled safely. For an envelope or block, photograph the whole object as well. The photo identification guide helps avoid cropped denominations and blurred service inscriptions.
Stamp Value Identifier & Scan is free to install on iOS and Android, with in-app purchases. It supports individual stamp identification and saved discoveries as a collection.[9][10] Use the result as a starting point. It does not replace a physical paper check, authentication certificate or appraisal, and no photo-only result here establishes fluorescence or an invisible plate feature.
Keep a record with country, subject, exact printed face value and historical unit, service inscription, measured gauge, paper system, condition and format. Add the seller's item ID and observation date only when the comparison really matches. If paper remains unresolved, save that uncertainty beside the identification rather than saving a confident catalog number. A later reference check can improve the record without losing the evidence that started it.

Frequently asked questions
Is a $2100 bicycle worth 2100 US dollars?
No. $2100 is the historical Mexican face value, not a USD selling price. The photographed single was offered at EUR 5.85 on 11 October 2026, excluding delivery and platform fees.[12]
Does a 1993 postmark mean nuevos pesos?
No. Read the denomination and identify the issue. The nuevo peso began on 1 January 1993 at 1000 old pesos to one new peso. A later use date alone does not change the stamp inscription.[1][4]
How do I check the cattle-and-meat printing?
The paper-1 reference lists 0.80 cattle and meat with perforations 14 and 11 and separate Etiangui numbers 8 and 9. Measure the physical stamp and verify the full paper description; a matching picture is insufficient.[2]
Is the type 13 abalone paper proven by the photo?
No. Type 13, X-B and fluorescent paper are seller attributions. The normal-light photograph confirms one $1900 abalone stamp, not its UV response or paper classification.[13]
Do the cotton offers prove a granite-paper premium?
No. Both $5000 cotton singles had EUR 5.85 base asks. One was labeled type 9 granite paper and the other did not specify a type. Two asks do not establish a universal premium or its absence.[14][15]
Can I use the Spink error block to price a loose Exporta?
Not as an ordinary comparison. Lot 405 describes ten joined 20-peso wrought-iron stamps, paper 5, 37.5 mm and specified plate errors with a 2025 MEPSI certificate. No realized amount is used here.[6]
